Summary: 2009 - new venue, course ok, volunteers great, organisation poor
Comments: After 5 years of putting on a full IM distance race, you would have thought the organisers would have it sorted. The new venue with split transition was poorly thought out, and dire for family & spectators. The lack planning for the usual poor British weather was crazy. The course was good, but nothing out of the ordinary. Expo was a joke, parking was non existant, split transition not well thought out like IMDE. Poor experience and post race food was pork pies, pasties and sandwiches made by some grannies! Just what you want after racing 140.6m!

Summary: Good race, good fans, scenic course
Comments: This is a really good race with great fans and a nice scenic course. From registration to getting your medal the organisation is really well run. The marshals are excellent and the scenery on the bike is very pretty. The only negative point is the second half of the run course which was a long a dual carriageway. I understand that this is being changed for 2008. The bike is quite hilly which was a bit of a surprise as other forums describe Lanza, Switzerland and Nice as the climbing European courses.
